Day 33-35 Lake Argyle
After a quick stop in Kununurra, and with a brand new spare tyre, we drove to Lake Argyle. This was our last stop in the Kimberley before entering the Northern Territory. Lake Argyle is the largest man-made freashwater lake in Western Australia, thanks to the dam wall that was built in 1971 which keeps the water in. Lake Argyle is also home to 35 000 freshwater crocodiles and the wallaroo, a mix of kangaroo and wallaby. We stayed at Lake Argyle Caravan Park and Resort and it’s easy to understand why people come here. Our campsite was just a few meters from their famous infinity pool and stunning views of the lake. On our second evening we went on a sunset cruise on the lake, an awesome way to enjoy the scenery. Just in time for sunset we got to go for a swim in the crystal clear water (it was deep too!) while getting beers thrown overboard for everyone to enoy.
