Day 136 - 140 Adelaide
We left the outback behind for a little while, to visit the capital of South Australia – Adelaide. A fairly small city if you compare to those on the East coast. It kind of feels like a smaller version of Perth. Adelaide has a nice concentrated city centre which makes it easy to explore. We stayed four nights at a caravan park just on the foreshore of West Beach and managed to squeeze in quite a few things during our stay. We did some sightseeing in the city centre and payed the Central Market a visit. We went to see the giant pandas at the zoo and catched up with both an IKEA Marketing colleague and a Perth friend. And of coures, we had to visit IKEA Adelaide to get our Christmas food shopping done. Some pickled herring, julmust and pepparkakor and the Christmas dinner was saved. We took the tram to Glenelg and (Henrik) went for a dip in the ocean. Still no summer water temperatures to speak of, though. The Adelaide Hills made a pretty treak and we did the 3.5km walk from Waterfall Gully to the Mount Lofty lookout (and back again), with great panoramic views of Adelaide. Adelaide is a nice “little” big city.
