Day 36-39 Darwin

So we had enough of the freshies in Lake Argyle and hit the road again. This time we decided to do a full day of driving and it took us all the way to Darwin.

The weather in Darwin is tropical, with 35+ degrees and 80% humidity. Put on a shirt and 5 seconds later it’s soaking wet. As a city though, Darwin doesn’t really stand out. Just another city next to a beautiful blue ocean, where you can’t swim due to stingers. Though they do have a nice exhibition where you put on a VR helmet to watch the bombing of Darwin during the WWII, you can also watch holo movies about the war.

At the Northern Territory Museum you could hear an actual recording, made by a priest, during the cyclone Tracy back in the 70s. Which pretty much wiped the whole city. You could also read about one of the largest crocodiles caught in the territory, Sweetheart. Next to the museum, lies the ski club. Where you can have a drink or two on a hot day and watch the sunset.
