Day 164 – 169 Fitzgerald River National Park and Bremer Bay

Our next stop was Fitzgerald River National Park. The travel distances are undoubtfully getting shorter and shorter as we’re slowly getting closer to Perth.

We stayed for two nights at the east side of the national park, at Hamersley Inlet campground (one of the nicest bushcamps we’ve seen so far). Some exercise was on the schedule and not only did we climb the East Mount Barren, but we also did the 17.6km return walk to Whalebone creek camping (resulting in sore feet but happy souls).

In the west side of the park, we climbed the West Mount Barren and went for a swim at Point Anne. This is also where we camped for the night; a great bushcamp right next to the beach. It made for an awesome sunset!

Beautiful beaches, rugged cliffs and stunning views would sum up this well-worth-a-visit National Park.

Just a short drive from Fitzgerald River National Park, is the township of Bremer Bay. With, once again, beautiful beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. Two nights stop here before deciding on where to next.
